Funding Opportunities
Funding is often the first thing that folks think of when they are working on a project.
We hope that when developing projects that you do not try to fit the project to the funding sources, but rather, develop the best possible project and then determine what is the best funding source to fund your project.
The PLJV keeps a funding database which gives brief details on many granting sources. This is not a comprehensive list but may help to start your funding search. There are several funding sources that the PLJV advises private landowners and local conservation partnerships to review first including many of the Farm Bill programs, North American Wetlands Conservation Act grants (NAWCA) both standard and small, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) grants, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants, and the PLJV’s ConocoPhillips and Capacity grant programs. They are outlined in the tabs below.
If you have questions about any funding source or about writing proposals for your project, please contact Christopher Rustay, Conservation Delivery Leader for the PLJV. He may be reached at (505) 243-0737 or via email.
